Pulsão de morte

Este trabalho aborda inicialmente alguns fundamentos da teoria psicanalítica com o objetivo de apresentar o percurso teórico desenvolvido por Sigmund Freud até a formulação da hipótese da pulsão de morte. Para tanto, discute conceitos fundamentais da psicanálise, como pulsão, princípio do prazer e princípio da realidade. Em um segundo momento, são apresentados os questionamentos e investigações realizadas por Wilhelm Reich acerca da existência inata da pulsão de morte. Embora Reich tenha sido psicanalista, aluno e seguidor de Freud, sua expulsão da International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA), em 1934, por razões ideológicas e sociopolíticas, marcou o início de um caminho teórico próprio. O artigo demonstra que, apesar da ruptura institucional, Reich manteve importantes diálogos com a tradição psicanalítica, desenvolvendo interpretações distintas acerca da natureza humana e dos impulsos destrutivos.

This study initially discusses fundamental concepts of psychoanalytic theory in order to present the theoretical path that led Sigmund Freud to formulate the concept of the death drive. To achieve this objective, key psychoanalytic concepts such as drive, pleasure principle, and reality principle are briefly examined. The article then explores Wilhelm Reich's questions and investigations regarding the possibility of an innate death drive. Although Reich was a psychoanalyst, student, and follower of Freud, his expulsion from the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA) in 1934 for ideological and sociopolitical reasons led him to develop an independent theoretical perspective. The article demonstrates that, despite the institutional rupture, Reich maintained significant dialogue with psychoanalytic thought while proposing distinct interpretations concerning human nature and destructive impulses.
