Resumo
This work seeks to explore obesity from the perspective of body psychology, highlighting the relationship between this condition and character traits. Obesity, in addition to being a medical condition related to excess body fat, is deeply connected to emotional and behavioral issues that manifest differently depending on the individual's character structure. Based on the ideas of Wilhelm Reich, Federico Navarro, and Alexander Lowen, it is understood that muscular tensions and energetic blockages in the body directly affect how emotions are stored, impacting both weight gain and weight maintenance. Therapies such as Character-Analytic Vegetotherapy and Bioenergetics offer effective approaches to addressing these blockages, promoting more lasting and transformative weight loss. These techniques help explain how different character traits influence each person's relationship with their body and emotions, fostering a more comprehensive and individualized treatment process.

Abstract
This study explores obesity from the perspective of body psychology, emphasizing the relationship between obesity and character traits. Beyond being a medical condition associated with excessive body fat, obesity is deeply connected to emotional and behavioral issues that manifest differently according to an individual's character structure. Based on the theories of Wilhelm Reich, Federico Navarro, and Alexander Lowen, muscular tensions and energetic blockages are understood to directly influence the way emotions are stored in the body, affecting both weight gain and weight maintenance. Therapeutic approaches such as Character-Analytic Vegetotherapy and Bioenergetics provide effective methods for addressing these blockages, promoting more sustainable and transformative weight loss. These techniques contribute to understanding how different character traits influence each person's relationship with their body and emotions, encouraging a more comprehensive and personalized treatment approach.
